ABOUT
I believe everyone has their personal mythic system, influenced by their cultural heritage, racial/genetic memories, the society in which they were brought up and, most important to me, a spirituality that is inherent in each of us. Not everyone operates with this knowledge in the forefront of their brains, but it is there…like a whisper…influencing our lives and how we view our circumstances.
I keep my eyes open for signs and omens and messages from those deep places inside myself.
I love the time between late afternoon and twilight when all things seem possible, when magic and longing shimmer in the air. I am after that essence in my work: the storytelling, the interface between myth, memory and quantum physics.
As a musician and singer-songwriter, I respond to the lyric invocation of color, the sound behind the shade, the refrain of shape and form. The place where my blood begins to sing and I am creating from the infinite Voice of that holographic song. The call and response between You and Me and The Universe.

I had two houses burned down in Hope Valley, Rhode Island. It was because my multi-ethnic family, my gorgeous African-American mother and my White stepfather, were not wanted nor allowed to move into that lovely, verdant town. This happened in the 1970s. Those two houses still show up from time to time in my music and in my paintings.
